Know if the car still fits your life.

I wanted a simple place to calculate the financials on a car payment, balloon, what's left after real life costs. Also I want a BMW. This is me checking whether that's ambition or denial.

<how-it-works>

Three inputs. A clearer picture.

Standard amortisation with the balloon due at the end of the term. Compare scenarios before you talk to a dealer the same workflow I use when a new quote lands.

// 01

Enter the deal

Price, deposit, rate, term, and balloon plus optional bank fees if you have them.

// 02

Layer your budget

Add take-home pay, expenses, insurance, and running costs so leftover cash is honest.

// 03

Stress-test early exit

Pick a trade-in month and expected resale to see what you'd still owe versus what the car is worth.

Standard amortisation with the balloon at the end of the term. Real quotes may differ fees, VAT, rate methods so treat these as estimates while you chase that BMW dream.

<notes>

A few notes

Built to run the numbers on a car deal mostly so I can keep telling myself that BMW is still on the table.

Why does this exist?

I just wanted to calculate the financials myself payment, leftover cash, balloons, the lot. Also I want a BMW. This is how I’m trying to see if that’s a plan or a cry for help.

Is this a quote from a bank?

No. It’s a quick estimate so you can play with numbers before talking to anyone in a suit.

What does “left over” mean?

Take-home pay minus expenses, insurance, running costs, and the finance payment. Colours flag when you’re under your minimum buffer.

What is the compare grid for?

Scan payments, leftover cash, settlement, or equity across prices, rates, terms, and balloons. Tap a cell to load it into the calculator.
